Mount Lu or Lushan also known as Kuanglu in ancient times, situated in the northern part of Jiangxi province in southeastern china, and is one of the most renowed mountains in the country.This is one of hundreds of steep peaks that towers above a sea clouds that encompass the mountains for almost 200 days out of year.Mount lu is known for its grandeur, steepness, and beauty, and is part of Lushan national park,a UNESCO World heritage sitesince 1996, and a prominent tourist attraction,especially during the summer months when the whether is cooler.Lushan was a summer resort for westren missionaries in China.The Lu Mountains are  oval-shaped mountains stretch 25 kilometers, spanning 10 kilometers in width, and cover an area of 300 square kilometers.The Lu Mountains are a popular summer resort thanks to picturesque scenery and cool weather in the summer. Mt. Lu is especially famous for its three supreme sights: the sea of clouds, the waterfalls and the sheer cliffs. Waterfalls on the mountain are particularly well-known due to their clear water and abundant water flow. These waterfalls are mainly supplied by natural precipitation. The humid climate and plentiful rainfall on the mountain all year round ensure that there is enough water for the waterfalls.. Numerous writers, artists and calligraphers from China's past visited Mt Lu for inspiration. Over 4,000 poems and verses have been written in praise the beauty of this famous mountain. The over 900 cliff inscriptions and more than 300 stelae with poems and couplets are testimonies to it's special place in ancient scholars' hearts.  Mt. Lu is therefore renowned as a cradle of Chinese landscape painting and of Chinese landscape poetry.Mt. Lu has served as an important religious site, revered especially by Taoism and Buddhism. Religious temples and pavilions are scattered here and there throughout the mountain. In addition, there are many sites on the mountain established by Confucianists, Christians as well as Muslims.MOUNT. Lu was one oftheeducational centers in China's imperial history. Bailudong Academy is located on its slopes. It is one of the four most famous ancient academies in China, with the other three being Yuelu Academy in Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, in central China's Hunnan Province; Songyang Academy in Songshan Mountain in central China's Henan Province; and Yintian Academy in Nanjing in east China's Jiangsu Province. Bailudong Academy was built in 940.Mt. Lu has been listed since 1996 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The Lushan Botanical gardens features tens of thousands of plant species.World famous lu shan tea is grown in the mountains
